Policy, Procedures and Process Development

A strong compliance function depends on clear, well-maintained documentation. At Zero Fintech Ltd, I took ownership of drafting, reviewing and maintaining the firm's formal compliance policies, procedures and supporting documentation.

What I did

I worked closely with the CRO and MLRO to ensure our policy suite reflected current regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite. This included AML/CTF policies, customer onboarding procedures, transaction monitoring playbooks and escalation frameworks.

Beyond documentation, I led the improvement and design of internal compliance processes. The goal was to strengthen controls, standardise how reviews were conducted and ensure consistency across the team, particularly as the firm scaled and onboarded new analysts.

Impact

Standardising our processes reduced ambiguity in day-to-day decision-making and made it easier to onboard new team members. Updated documentation also supported audit readiness, giving regulators and internal stakeholders confidence in our control environment.
